A legendary name in Sheffield, The Limit bar takes the moniker of the infamous 80s/90s club.
Mention Sheffield's club scene in the 80s/90s and you'll invariably get one response: "Remember The Limit?" A nightclub that was fondly remembered for its steep stairs, sticky carpets, indie-rock and live music. It was the place the U2 apparently played in Sheffield on their rise to the top or even where you'd get a mix of indie DJs and live music from someone like Paul Young! It was the place to be to find the likes of Pulp, The Human League, Artery, ABC and more. Playing on this name and reputation, The Limit bar opened on Furnival Square. Offering a similar diverse range of music as the original club but in a different location, The Limit invokes many memories - if not just from the large wall mural depicting the original venue.
