Since then a number of other, locally based, shows have been reaching out to actors and presenters for their own programmes.
Aggressive Management have been reaching out for two female presenters to take part in a ‘fast paced and exciting new music TV show’.
Posting on The Indie Project facebook page, the casting call states: “This show will keep you on your toes and need you to deliver content to camera as well as take part in more informal pieces with colleagues.”
Applications are sought before 6pm this Saturday, 29 March with auditions taking place as early as Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
Meanwhile, with the city’s own TV channel, Sheffield Live TV, launching on Freeview, Virgin Media and Sky later this year another casting call has gone out for actors in a new sitcom.
‘Pride and Pensioners’ is described as a comedy that follows two retired ladies who accidentally buy a gay bar.
Ideally applicants will be experienced actors with talent and comic timing.
The lead roles being searched for include two females aged 55+, as well as a male and a female in their early to mid 20s.
A number of opportunities also exist for extras of mixed age, race and gender.
Now, who remembers the old ‘Sheffield Cablevision’?
