A small Sheffield organisation has revealed it may have to cancel it’s planned city centre show due to a lack of sponsorship.
The ‘Little Sheffield’ show was due to take place on Father’s Day, Sunday 16 June, featuring a number of free activities for children of all ages.
As well as facilities for babies, toddlers and pre-school children, around 50 local businesses are lined up to exhibit.
It was hoped the flagship show would be the first of it’s kind in the UK due to a unique focus on getting local information and support to parents as well as the free fun children’s events.
Volunteer Katie Hayward, who runs Little Sheffield in her spare time, said: “We need to raise a total of £5,000, some of which will go on purchasing equipment that we can use in future shows.
"We have an amazing show and its incredibly frustrating to know that something so important to the mums and dads of Sheffield may have to be cancelled just because we can’t find sponsors.”
Katie is a mum of two young children herself and wants the show to go on in order to help other parents, saying: “We have organised the show to make sure that parents can find out what support is available to them locally.”
“Sponsorship is a massive opportunity,” says Katie, “We have an extensive pre-event marketing plan, plus lots of opportunities on the day for a sponsor to take advantage of.”
